George Bashforth

George Bashforth is a Director of Bridgestream based in the Cayman Islands. With a robust career that began at Goldman Sachs in London, George spent a decade honing his expertise across various roles, laying a solid foundation for his subsequent 15-year journey in the fiduciary sector. His extensive experience as a non-executive director spans a diverse range of structures, including hedge, private equity and venture capital funds, structured/securitized vehicles, foundations, and distressed/workout scenarios. George also co-leads the strategic direction of Bridgestream's Cayman Islands office. Before joining Bridgestream, George served as the Head of Directorship Services at Appleby Trust (Cayman) Limited. In this role, he excelled in overseeing governance and administration for a wide array of alternative investment vehicles, including CLOs, asset/project finance SPVs, hedge funds, and private equity funds. His tenure at Appleby Trust highlighted his ability to manage complex investment structures and deliver exceptional fiduciary services. Prior to his role at Appleby Trust, George was a Senior Vice President at Maples Fiduciary Services within their Funds Fiduciary Division. There, he provided top-tier fiduciary services to a broad spectrum of hedge and private equity funds. At Goldman Sachs International in London, he demonstrated his adeptness in financial operations by heading the Client Assets team and previously leading the Cash Management team, where he was responsible for funding the firm's short-term liquidity requirements across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Mr. Bashforth holds an MBA in Finance from CASS Business School, attained in 2005, and an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of the West of England, completed in 1996. His professional qualifications include membership in the Cayman Islands Directors Association, the Accredited Director designation from Chartered Secretaries Canada, and certification as a Hedge Fund Professional.
